Meetup 34 Quick onboarding of devices to Prosys Forge using WoT
Our CTO Jouni Aro and Lead Engineer Iivo Yrjölä are speaking at the upcoming W3C meetup, where they will demonstrate how the OPC UA WoT Connectivity standard enables quick and reliable onboarding of industrial devices to Prosys Forge.
In their presentation, Jouni and Iivo will walk through a live demonstration using Siemens SENTRON Energy Meters with Modbus communication. The demo shows how WoT Thing Descriptions, provided by the device manufacturer, allow Prosys Forge to onboard the devices automatically, without any manual configuration, through a standard OPC UA interface.
The session will also cover how the Energy Consumption Management Information Model provides a standardised, vendor-independent data model for energy meters, and how Prosys Forge converts raw device data into this common model for use in higher-level applications.
