FIIF EVENT: INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION 2026

Finnish Industrial Internet Forum (FIIF) is a Finnish ecosystem that brings together companies, researchers, and technology experts to promote digitalization and industrial innovation. As part of its activities, FIIF organizes events that foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across the industrial landscape. The upcoming FIIF Event: Industrial Automation, organized in cooperation with the Finnish Society of Automation, will take place on May 7th, 2026, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, in Tampere (Platform 6, Åkerlundinkatu 8), with the option to participate online.
The event brings together industry and research experts to discuss key topics in industrial automation, including the growing role of OPC UA and its integration with emerging technologies.
A central theme of the event is the convergence of AI and OPC UA. Together, they enable more intelligent and scalable industrial systems:
- OPC UA provides standardized, secure, and semantically rich access to industrial data
- AI enables advanced analytics, prediction, and decision-making
- Combined, they support use cases such as digital twins, predictive maintenance, and process optimization, while reducing integration effort and accelerating the adoption of data-driven solutions

Our CTO, Jouni Aro, will deliver two presentations at the event:
- “Bringing the industry experts together” (Finnish Society of Automation)
- “OPC UA data contextualization for AI” (Prosys OPC)
These sessions will provide both a broader industry perspective and a deep dive into how OPC UA data can be effectively utilized in AI-driven applications.
